Domestic Violence

We aim to address domestic violence abuse within Blyth Valley.  It is our aim to support, advise and signpost any person who has been affected by domestic violence, by following the appropriate links.

Domestic violence is rarely a one-off incident.  It is traditionally a crime that has been hidden away, and often goes under reported. It mostly affects the lives of women and their children.  However anyone can be abused.

Most people think that domestic violence is limited to socially deprived families, this is a myth.  It cuts across all social, economic, professional, religious and cultural boundaries.  Domestic violence can affect anybody in any community regardless of race, disability or sexuality.

Many victims live their lives in fear, with a loss of freedom to do as they please, they can suffer on many levels including health, education, housing and employment.
